Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 15 April 2026 · Effective: 15 April 2026

1. Definitions

In these Terms:

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing this website or enquiring about our Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms. If you engage our Services, a formal engagement letter will be provided, and the commencement of work constitutes acceptance of the terms set out therein and in this document.

Our Services are available to individuals aged 18 and over who have the legal capacity to enter into agreements. We do not knowingly engage with individuals who lack such capacity without appropriate representation.

3. Description of services

Ploy Law provides the following family legal services, each as described in detail on our Solutions page:

Services are available to clients in Thailand. For cross-border matters, we work with parties connected to other jurisdictions as described, but Thai law forms the basis of our advice and engagement. We do not provide legal advice under the laws of other countries — where coordination with overseas counsel is required, that is arranged separately and the terms of that engagement are between you and the overseas firm.

4. The initial consultation

We offer an initial consultation without charge. This consultation is exploratory — it allows us to understand your situation and assess whether and how we can assist. It does not constitute the commencement of a formal engagement and does not create a lawyer-client relationship. No advice given in the initial consultation should be relied upon as final legal advice without a formal engagement being in place.

5. Formal engagement

A formal engagement begins when we issue and you accept a written engagement letter specifying the scope of work, the fee, and the expected timeline. Work begins upon receipt of the engagement letter and any required initial payment. We reserve the right to decline to accept an engagement at our discretion.

6. User responsibilities

In order for us to carry out the work effectively, you agree to:

Delays caused by failure to provide information or documents as requested may extend timelines. We will advise you promptly if this occurs.

7. Intellectual property

All written advice, summaries, drafted arrangements, and other documents produced by Ploy Law in the course of an engagement are produced for your use in relation to the matter in hand. You may share these documents with parties directly involved in your matter. You may not reproduce, publish, or use them for commercial purposes without our written consent. The content of this website, including text and design, is owned by Ploy Law and may not be reproduced without permission.

8. Payment terms

Fees are as set out in the engagement letter. Payment is accepted by bank transfer to the account details provided. Where an initial payment is required before work begins, this will be stated in the engagement letter. Invoices are payable within 14 days of issue unless otherwise agreed. Fees are stated in Thai Baht (฿).

Where a matter is concluded before the full scope of work has been completed — at your request or because the matter resolves — we will discuss any adjustment to the fee with you based on the work carried out.

We do not offer refunds for work already completed. If you have concerns about a fee or the scope of work, please raise these directly with us — we are committed to resolving concerns fairly.

9. Confidentiality

We maintain strict confidentiality in relation to all client information. Legal professional privilege applies to advice and communications between Ploy Law and its clients. We do not disclose client information to third parties without your consent, except where required by law or our professional obligations. For full details of how we handle personal data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers

The content on this website is provided for general information only and does not constitute legal advice. It should not be relied upon as a substitute for advice specific to your situation. Legal outcomes depend on the particular facts of each matter and cannot be predicted with certainty. We do not make any representation about the outcome of any legal matter we assist with.

11. Limitation of liability

Ploy Law's liability in connection with the provision of Services is limited to the fee paid for the specific service in question. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages. This limitation does not apply in cases of fraud, gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable Thai law.

12. Termination

Either party may bring an engagement to a close by giving reasonable written notice. If you withdraw from an engagement after work has begun, you remain liable for fees corresponding to the work carried out. We may bring an engagement to a close if: you fail to provide necessary information or instructions within a reasonable time; a conflict of interest arises; or continuing the engagement would require us to act in a way that conflicts with our professional obligations.

13. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Any dispute arising in connection with these Terms or the Services will first be referred to informal resolution through direct communication between the parties. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be referred to the courts of Thailand, with jurisdiction in Bangkok.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Continued use of our website after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. For active engagements, changes to the engagement terms will be communicated directly and will not apply retrospectively without your agreement.
